Signature subscribe
Wait for signature confirmation
Signature subscribe waits for a transaction signature to reach a selected commitment level. Use it after submission when a later step depends on confirmation.
Try it step by step#
- Map a submitted transaction’s transactionSignature into Signature.
- Choose Confirmed or Finalized according to the confirmation your workflow needs.
- Run and inspect err in the notification before continuing with work that assumes success.
What to expect#
The notification identifies the signature, commitment, slot, and any transaction error. A signature is an identifier; it is not proof that execution succeeded.
Things to check#
- Use an actual submitted signature on the same network as the subscription.
- A timeout does not prove the transaction was never executed. Check its status before submitting another transfer.
- Start with a read or test transaction rather than making a second transaction merely to test the listener.
