Node reference

SOL balance

Read an account balance

Solana

SOL balance reads the native SOL held by a public address. Use this read-only node to learn the RPC connection before adding any signing operation.

Try it step by step#

  1. Choose a Solana network and RPC route, then enter an address or select a wallet variable.
  2. Connect Start → SOL balance and run once.
  3. Inspect solString for the decimal balance and lamports for the same amount in the smallest unit.

What to expect#

An illustrative balance of 1.5 SOL appears as solString: "1.5" and lamports: "1500000000". The actual balance and context slot come from your chosen network.

Things to check#

  • Keep large raw amounts as strings to avoid rounding them in JavaScript.
  • This reads native SOL. Use Token balance or Token holdings for tokens.
  • A wallet can have different balances on mainnet and devnet. Check the selected network first when the result surprises you.
