EXAMPLE 01 OF 16 · Starter
Your first message
Create a value and turn it into a greeting. A small first run with a result you can inspect immediately.
Before you begin#
- Use the Browser runtime. No account, wallet, or connection is required.
Walk through the workflow#
- Import a copy, then select the first Variable node. Change the name value from Builder to your own name if you like.
- Inspect the next Variable node. Its greeting uses Hello, {{name}}! to read the value from the previous step.
- Run once. Inspect the final node’s output: with the original values it is {"greeting":"Hello, Builder!"}.
- Change the name and run again to see how a fixed value and an expression work together.
Check your result#
The final output is {"greeting":"Hello, Builder!"}. The first Variable creates a value; the second reads it inside a sentence.
Make one change#
Change Builder to Ada. The next run should produce {"greeting":"Hello, Ada!"}. Then change the sentence while keeping {{name}} in place.
If it does not match#
Check that the variable is named name in both places and that the two nodes are connected in order. For a number, object, or array, an exact expression preserves the value’s type; embedding it in a sentence creates text. Read expressions next.
